At Keeping History Alive, we’re dedicated to preserving and sharing the personal stories of veterans like Dr. Tom Fitzpatrick III. A WWII veteran and former Tech Sergeant 5 in the U.S. Army Air Corps, Tom served with the 15th Air Force, 2nd Bombardment Group, 96th Bomb Squadron. He flew B-17 bombers on dangerous missions over Europe, including strikes on Nazi oil refineries. His memories of navigating across the Atlantic, working alongside the Tuskegee Airmen, and the close bond he shared with his crew paint a vivid picture of the bravery and sacrifice of those who served. By sharing Tom’s story, we aim to honor these incredible experiences and ensure future generations understand the true cost of freedom.
